Title: Removing Atomiser holder PHF36mm Carb

I have a pair of PHF36mm carbs from a Le Mans III with the shrouded atomiser holders which I intend to change to the standard LM 1/2 non shrouded holder (Dellorto part number 8541)

They are pressed in. Any one changed them over before? Can I just pass a suitable sized drift and wack them out?

They are going on to an 850 T4 with ported heads and Le Mans inlet manifolds.

Why? I’m no expert but thought these were more fuel efficient while providing similar power?

More fuel efficient because there is less power !

I think Guzzy differentiated between their sporting models and touring bikes partly by detuning the lower power models as well as tuning the higher power bikes. Later on the carbs got bigger and the flywheels lighter.

36mm carbs if properly set up make a big difference on the 950 version of this motor.

But if you don't really rev the bike and ride at 70mph then there's probably no point. I love the bike but it feels strangled above 5000 revs / 70mph. Changing the heavy fly Wheel to standard Le Mans improved matters without changing the character of the motor too much. I have a spare pair of decent heads that are ported with 36mm inlet manifolds so I thought I'd try them with the PHF36s.

I have always just tap on them and out they come. I changed my LM3 and the SP3 I used to own. Customers on request, usually it all works fine, no problems yet.
It also makes a difference if your atomizer is AB or AR, one has a shorter tip.
For a small valve motor start at 264 atomizers , needle will be K23. This was euro stock for the 30's
