Louisiana State Rally MAY 3 - 5. 2019
« on: April 19, 2019, 09:10:43 AM »
Venue
www.valhalla-mc.com  A full service motorcycle campground designed by avid motorcyclists

Start the Spring Rally Season off right in the piney woods of Northern Louisiana at the Louisiana MGNOC State Rally hosted by Mark Perry (LA State Rep) and the Crew at Valhalla MC Campground.

Valhalla is a stupendous Rally site with a large pavilion attached to a full inside bar.  There are two bathrooms at the pavilion site and two shower houses with toilets just up the hill for your comfort.
Camp for free in the pines, in the large pasture adjacent to the pavilion or by the fish pond.

Enjoy fantastic food and desserts prepared on site by Curtis and Tanna your Valhalla Hosts.

Go for a spirited ride with Guzzi Dave and the Perry Brothers or perhaps a more sedate version with Galveston Dave.

Kick tires, tell tall tales and enjoy a few adult beverages around the fire pit.

Homer and vicinity

Homer is a typical small Northern Louisiana Town largely dependent on the oil industry. Named after the Greek poet Homer its population is about 3000.

Amenities include:  A couple of grocery stores, several gas stations/convenience stores, half a dozen restaurants (chicken place changes the grease on Thursday), the Hillside Motel, couple of air B&Bs and a bunch of Churches (mostly Baptist).  Minden is closest large town and even has a Walmart.

The Ford Museum in downtown Homer relates the story of Homer from Native American times to the oil-boom heyday.

The Bonny and Clyde Ambush Museum in Gibsland and the actual ambush site are about a 30 minute ride.

The German Colony Museum located in nearby Minden, has preserved and restored some of the settlement buildings and has an extensive collection of artifacts.

Lake Claiborne is close and provides another riding opportunity.

Riding in the area is generally good, lots of two lanes through gentle hills sweepers and even some twisties.

Or you can just hang out at Valhalla.
