Scotland Visit
« on: July 19, 2019, 06:23:02 PM »
Had a great trip (though ALL TOO brief) to Scotland last week. Had a chance to grab a cup of coffee with OldJock, and saw some wonderful sights. Covered about 1100 miles and though many bikes, no Guzzi's, mostly BMW ADV and some Triumphs with a few UJM type bikes and crotch rockets. Best part of the visit was when John revealed that he had more motorcycles than I did ;-) THANKS for helping a brother out with SWMBO John! We had a nice breakfast (best egg and sausage sandwich EVER) and wished we had more time. Unfortunately we missed a full day due to storms on the US west coast and had to get back on schedule.  Scotland is a wonderful country, we felt completely at home and comfortable.

Overall a great time. Never got on 2 wheels, but logged many (1100) 4 wheel and two legged (75) miles hiking. There are no words to describe the fun of driving on the wrong side of the road sitting on the wrong side of a car, with the same pedal arrangement and shift pattern with NO shoulder..... ;-) Every road, especially in the Highlands and Skye all I could thing was "I wish I was riding".... Definitely a future trip!
