As promised we visited the rally and met some nice folks and saw some great bikes. Ill follow these pictures up with a video at some point. Thanks to the nice Virginia Moto Guzzi folks for letting us stop by ...

Dave - Was right behind you but you were moving pretty quick and I didn't get a chance to say "Hi".

It was a good rally.   About 80 Guzzi attendees ... weather was Virginia Mountain Standard, partly cloudy with an afternoon deluge on Friday, warm with a noon shower on Saturday, an lovely and hot on Sunday.

Lots of old friends and some new ones there.   Oldest rider at 83 was Bill who rode in from New Mexico, so he also got "Long Distance" at 2073 miles.   Youngest rider was perennial winner Nate Jones at 30 (from 2000 to 2005 it was Adam Mellor, from 2005 to 2010 it was my boy Alec, but now Nate has taken over ... !).

Nice raffle prizes (grand prize was a pair of new tires), and good company including the non-Guzzi folks also in the campground, many of whom were interesting to talk to, excellent food catered in by "Ray's" of Floyd, VA, but mostly sitting back talking about old rides, old friends, old bikes (you can see a pattern developing here), what route we came here on, what route to take home, commiserating about Bob Taylor who hit a deer on the Parkway on the way to the rally and is in a Roanoke VA hospital recovering (up and walking but being operated on tomorrow, so we hear), and all the other things you do at rallies ... !

We nearly hit a deer on the Parkway but just missed it. It went right in front of my brother and I was waiting for more to come across in front of me but it was just the one.

Sorry I missed you, Lannis!

As soon as I can I’ll post a video too.

Any of you folks win some of the 3D decals I sent down to Bob to use as giveaways?

Yes it was a great rally and great catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Unfortunately we didn’t get the WG name tags distributed so - I wonder who some of the posters here are even though we may have been seen each other several times?

The weekend just kept getting better and last nite was beautiful! Only got rained on briefly coming home so a great time overall!

Yup, that would be ME!   My doorprize number won me several, I don't know who got the others.   Saw your card in the envelope, and will make sure the "decals" (if that's the way to say it, they are substantial "badges" to say the least) grace one of the Guzzis in a prominent place .... !!

Once again, a great VA rally in the books!

Many thanks, TwinBob and everyone else who help put on such a great rally. Wonderful support from Richmond Guzzi dealer Moto Richmond, Kathy's Journey Design, and so many others.

Some photos from the Rally and trip home (no photos of going to the Rally as it rained nearly the whole trip down!).

850-T3 owned by Swooshdave's brother, formerly owned by Pat Galbraith.

Guy Roberts and his rig.

Dave Bodner's well-used Eldorado.

Obligatory photo at Mabry Mill.

Lunch stop at Paint Bank.

Back into the rain - Frost, WV.

Sunny again at Seneca Rocks, stayed that way for the rest of the trip.

I'm still working on a video. Been a wee busy (spent a few days in Washington DC and then Williamsburg for the 4th). Bummed I didn't have time to visit Charlie's shop (but did get to a Keys game!).

What type drone and camera were you using? That's some excellent aerial photographic clarity.

It's a Mavic Air, which has a pretty decent camera. The other shots where with my iPhone 8 and a gimbal (Osmo Mobile 2).

There are a few more videos on my channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/swooshdave/ and you can get a better idea of what the drone can do.
