Arguably the best rally in the country. I was talking to a guy at the Iowa rally, and he said when you consider the food and premium beverages at the Wisconsin rally, you couldn't afford to stay home.  (Guzzi content)

Jul 31 to Aug 2, 2015
31ST ANNUAL WISCONSIN MOTO GUZZI RALLY

Will be held at Lake Joy Campground (www.lakejoy.com ). All brands are welcome. Registration is $35 before July 1, 2014, and $45 at the gate. The rally fee includes two nights tent camping Friday and Saturday, two dinners and two continental breakfasts. For more information contact: Pyro Dan: 920-887-3128 or dan@dpguzzi.com.

It's on my riding calendar.  My plan is to arrive on Thursday and be there when Dan taps those kegs.  Looking forward to that fresh limburger cheese sandwich in Monroe, WI.  Also, two riding friends are planning to stop at Lake Joy on their way home from the Beemer National in Billings, MT.

Look me up at the rally, and I will not only explain it, I'll take you to where it's made..  :bike-037:

(In short, after it's about 7-9 months old it gets acidic and looses flavor.. It's best at about 3 month old..   :food:)

Might be doing the Thursday night thing, too..  :thumb: I'll be the guy in the hammock, riding a rather raspy Triumph..

Been going to Guzzi Rallies long enough. Figured I'd actually buy one..

And then I sold it.. :(

Thanks for posting up Chuck....No not UpCHuck :undecided:
I thought about posting but it seemed a bit self serving.
The club meeting was last Sunday at my house and we made the final plans and such to be sure we're ready for ya'll. I will be in charge of QA for the tappers again this year :boozing: as well as serving up the cheese and sausage trays.

Yeah, I moved to Wisconsin to attend College in 1972 when it was 18 for all alcohols. Found out about 151 rum real fast. Didn't last but about 6 weeks in school..
Came back here after a tour in the Navy and got that schooling under GI bill.

We need to talk about this.  Sounds like your experience was similar to mine, except I went into the Navy a bit earlier than you.

Thank you.. It was a "want" for a long, long time.. Found it out to Baxter's Triumph on eBay this winter. I swore I wouldn't turn it into a sport touring bike, but I just couldn't stand not being able even get the mail on it.. The tankbag was added this week, and the Sargent seat was required because the stock seat was awful!!

See ya at the rally!!  :thumb:

Leaving Amish country Thursday morning, and taking 24 across Indiana and Illinois. I get tired of Chicago, and would rather look at corn than fight through there. Not sure if I will be stopping anywhere Thursday night, or just riding through. Meeting  Beemer friend for lunch in Indiana.

You can always stop in at Rose Farms in Woodstock, IL and chat with Jim B. for awhile.  He can bring you up-to-date on the latest from Guzzi land.  There's a Quality Inn on the corner of Hwys 47 and 14 that I've stayed at a couple of times, decent accommodation/reasonable price.  There's a bar/pizza house/restaurant across the street within walking distance that has decent food.

If you are as close as Jim's, you might as well soldier on to the rally. It's only a couple of hours or so from there. I'd say stop in Auburn and go to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg museum.. it's fabulous if you like Art Deco buildings and cars.

Ok for those traveling  from anything south or southeast, which is the better lunch stop; www.Pumpels.com in New Galris.   Or  Baumgartner' in Monroe?   I have enjoyed great beer and sandwiches in both locations, but for me I'll always have a sweet spot for Monroe.

Brad and I stopped at Baumgartner's after the Iowa rally for a (really) late breakfast. We had their "World's second best chili" and a cheese sammich with spicy mustard. Brad said it might have been the weirdest breakfast he'd ever had, but it was good..

I did a short test run yesterday,  Dan.  Windshield works for me.   :thumb  I'll probably roll in late Friday afternoon.  No hamock, taking advantage of Chuck's camper.
