The only new pistons I can find online for my V7 sport are these old stock Asso pistons.

Does anybody have experience with these?

yes, fine cast pistons. Had some in a used endurance motor I bought from John Hoffman. It was 88x70 for 900 I think. I think one piston ended up disintegrating on the race track in an AMA Pro Twins race (topeka?), but it was being used (abused) well past its expiration date. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in a street bike.

These? https://www.ebay.com/itm/173694313413 If so, the domes are a different shape than the originals and the compression will be higher.

Guzzitech has V7 Sport Gilardoni kits for a good price: https://gtmotocycles.com/products/gilardoni-piston-cylinder-set-82-5mm

FYI, all of the old Guzzi pistons I've had my paws on either were stamped ASSO or MONDIAL.

Would those higher compression pistons be a bad thing? That is quite the dome on those. Nice opportunity to build a hot V7Sport.

I ended up with the gilardoni set. I’m keeping her mostly stock. I don’t know how much power I’d want with drum brake…

I ended up buying a set of these with plans to have my original cylinders re-plated.

One problem, the pin to squish band is just under 4mm shorter. Hopefully I can return.

I surfed the web a bit looking for the original part number 1206 1200 and wasn't finding anything. If you look for the later part number 1306 1260 (Eldorado) several sources come up. I'm not sure the length is the same, but the diameter definitely is.

Worst case, there are companies that will make whatever you want.

Eldo pins are longer, a trip to the lathe will rectify that.....  DonG
