I keep hoping that Coatsville will be the next Downingtown. It went from a mill town to hipster ville.

I’m going to have to try to make that! I’m from Chester County but also live in Royersford now. It’s a nice ride down there and I’d even get to hit one of my favorite roads, RT282 Creek Rd on the way. They just repeated it this spring and it’s a joy to ride it.

I went to college in the area in the early 80's and my wifes family is from Downingtown/Johnsonville, Coatesville was scary town back then......

God it's so funny seeing the arguably seriously questionable town Jenn and I lived in for like 8 years have this event (which started after we moved).

The school district was a nightmare of cost vs low reputation with some of the worst numbers in Chester County. Taxes aside, we didn't particularly care, the neighbors were great and the surrounding roads were fantastic. We moved down to Kennett when she was in residency and fellowship. And we still have family in the city. But damn, it was literally NEVER a destination.

That said, awesome... We should drop in and enjoy. Way to improve your circumstance.

Ha ha, actually a good thought. Where are you located? We used to be just out side the city at Oak St and 16th, across from Our a Lady of the Rosary Church. We were just around the corner from the best Pourto Rican pizza we've ever had "Jack's Pizza."

We lived there all through Jenn's undergrad and Med School years. Actually Jenn and I met at the Chester County Shotokan Karate Club, located up route 30 closer to Downingtown.

I live up near Maple Grove dragway and have lived within 10 or so miles of C-ville my whole life.

Coatsville must been something in its heyday.
The old houses have some nice architecture, and years ago a nice downtown.
Anyway the Grand Prix is great fun and a baby step for C-ville's future.

The weather looks perfect this Saturday. It will be a good day to stand on the streets of Coatsville and cheer on the driver/riders as they fly by. So come enjoy the day.

That looks fantastic! I never realized that there were street races in the US! Any others? Any really big ones at all? We still have them in various smaller towns to boost the local economy a little. Not as many as in the past, but they are still around if you look............... ...https://www.burtmunrochallenge.co.nz/home and here: https://www.greymouthstreetrace.co.nz/
There will be Guzzis competing at both these meets.
Just very happy to see a street race in the US!

Actually, Pittsburgh, PA, has quite a nice Vintage Grand Prix every year, raising buckets of money for local charities.  It's a week-long event, with black-tie dinners, rally events, car shows, track racing, all leading up to the weekend street races with several classes of cars hammering through Schenley Park & the surrounding neighborhoods.  Unfortunately there's no bike racing, but the Pittsburgh Ton-Up Club hosts a very nice bike show in the Park during the car races....
