Awesome, awesome rally.  Did I say awesome.  Friends first, Food second, Fantastic roads.  Anyone who has not been to the KY Rally should try to fit it in their schedule for next year.
Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it great.  Also, to the owners of the campground for hosting and a great pancake breakfast on Saturday.
I cleaned the dirt from two rallies off the bike and aired out the camping gear and stowed for next season.
Bike is ready for brake pads all around and almost the 24k service.  Winter jobs.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. The Kentucky rally is "special" to me. I've been going since it first started, and won't miss it without a *really* good reason. My 60th high school reunion was the same weekend. "Sorry, I have to go to the Kentucky rally."
I was fortunate enough to win the 50/50, and gave it back as partial payback for all the good times I've had there. Put it on your calendar..you'll be glad you did. Good friends, good riding, good times.  :thumb:

Just heard one guy didn't make it from the IL crowd, Mark Stohr. Broke his neck overshooting a curve by Shelbyville.
He usually rides a Cali but was on a 850 V7 he bought recently.
At least he's not paralyzed. Was riding w/Chad on the way.

Yeah, he low sided and was doing ok until he hit a culvert and went over the top.  Chad said he was doing ok considering, and everything is working. He's in the hospital in Louisville, as far as I know.

He is doing much better than I feared might be the case.  In fact he is home, in a neck brace, which he is to wear for 11 weeks I believe.  Fractured the c2, no surgery, just time for it to heel, and it appears he should make a Full recovery.

He was on a 09 Vintage which he recently picked up, got into a tighter than expected corner a bit to hot, road of the side in to gravel, started to work his way back to the pavement, but ran out of gravel shoulder and dropped front wheel into culvert ditch, bike went ass over front, he was ejected from the seat, and came down like a pile driver on his Nolan.  He was very, very lucky.

Unfamiliar road, new bike, less than optimal tires all variables that came in to play.    Let's all take this as a lesson, don't go into a dam corner to HOT!

The kind of news you don't want to hear at a rally but so glad to hear he will recover.

I believe that is Jim Hamlin's frankenbike.

Correct.  He did a good job repowering a 1200 Sport.  Should be a nice ride.

Thanks to everyone for a great first Guzzi rally.  It was an absolutely great time all around with some great people.  I missed the Ton-Up National to be in Kentucky.  No regrets!
