Medical update;  Surgeon says the surgery is too extensive, too risky, with a very long recovery road and very low to no success rate.

So I have to live with my condition, and not lift anything heavy/over ten pounds and little exertion at all to my stomach muscles.  Oh boy, this lifestyle change should be interesting.

Never hurts to get a second (or even third) opinion.  Lots of Dr.s out there.  And a trike doesn't require any lifting that I can think of.  Your shoulders might get a work-out steering the thing.  You could wear a big leather kidney belt (and look bad-ass ) for extra back and abdominal support.  Where there's a will, there's a way.

Sorry to hear it.  Maybe it is time to get into convertibles?

Bummer, I’d go for a sidecar or a late model Miata or better yet the Fiat Spider for less cash.

Just now seeing this thread. Sorry to hear Bob.

When people ask me if I have seen this or that movie / show, or read this or that book, I always answer that I don’t have time for such things. There may be a time when reading and watching is all I can do so I will have a lot to choose from.

Maybe it is nearing the time to write your memoir.

If you are looking at smaller bikes how about the MP3 by Paggio.  Two up front. Still leans, but can lock upright as you come to a stop.

Surgeon said no HEAVY BIKES as the leaning or tilting up etc can cause me more problems.  Maybe Il try my Honda Cb 750 chopper and see how I can handle that….or a convertible…or MP3 or small scooter.  Time to think now.

I have to wear a huge hernia belt already to hold my intestines inside my stomach muscle wall so I already will have a badass belt.  Lol

Anyways, due to a medical condition (I cannot handle heavy bikes anymore) my 2010 goldwing and trailer, and my 2013 Stelvio will be going up for sale soon.  Message me if interested.

Goldwing with trailer $11,000
Stelvio.  $7500

Thanks

Bob, very sorry to hear about your medical issues. Hope to make it down to your meet and greet in a few weeks. I have a good friend that has made the switch from motorcycle to MP3 and is really enjoying it. With the locking feature on the front end, he doesn't have to do any lifting or tugging. Just remember you have a lot of options. Praying for you brother.   JohnB

Even light bikes can get super heavy super quick if they start to get away from you, and I believe the the 2 up front (MP3/Niken) can be dropped if things go a bit pear-shaped

How about a CanAm Trike or get your Goldwing converted to 3 wheels by flogging the Stelvio

Bob,

Yes sir you will. Especially with your excellent attitude! Keep your Honda chopper as long as possible. When/if you're done with that, please let me know.

As a fellow cancer survivor, may I suggest a V7?

They weigh about 3/4 of a Stelvio.

Don't follow nor do I read WG much these days.

So sorry to hear about your medical condition and wish you the very best!

At one time I expressed interest in your Stelvio but at this time I'm starting to thin out my Guzzi fleet and with the hopes of being down to 1-2 bikes (1200rt BMW and either 98 EV or 86 Lemans will stay)

I'm not much into camping out, rallies or gatherings but for the most part do some solo riding.

I applaud your efforts in organizing these get together and have been a part of a few.

Not many Guzzi's in the area where I live..mostly HD riders of which most I have little in common with.

So in due time I will leave this forum and move on to whatever lies ahead for me.

Be well Bob!

Bob,
You're dealing with a decision that all riders must eventually face. That is simply "Know when to fold 'em." & only you can make that choice based on the best advice given. Acceptance is the key. My heartfelt sympathies accompany this message.
