Shinko 777 and EVT Tire Mileage
« on: September 28, 2022, 07:31:25 PM »
Shinko 777 160/70-17 went right at 9000 miles of mainly street and freeway riding. Didn't do much twisties, so the edges are still fine but the center is getting pretty thin. I can probably go another 3-4 hundred miles and the tread pattern will be gone in the center.

I looked at options in a reasonable price range with decent mileage and grip. I just bought another 777.

For mileage I would have gone with the Michelin Commander II first or the ME 888 second. The Commander is a pretty hard tire and not the best grip on my EVT or HD. ME888 is decent for grip and gets great miles, but it's about $250US for one.

Hope this helps,
Tom
