1400 Aftermarket Shocks ???

I need some aftermarket shock absorbers for my 1400 Eldorado.

Suggestions ???

You might have a look at Icon or Progressive. Your bike is fairly heavy. Progressive at least used to be a go to for HD crowd.

if you could find some from a totaled 1400 custom, they were an inch longer, had auxilary gas canisters and were adjustable for damping as well as pre-load. much better than the ones on the touring model or eldo.

I have no real knowledge on this, but my suspension would be decent after market shocks would still be superior to the upgraded oem’s.

if the aftermarket shocks are tailored to your weight and riding style, they would probably be superior.

I was hoping that some of the 1400 owners had experience with one or another set of suspension changes.  I am partial to Ohlins and those with the external reservoir probably are great shocks but they do nothing for the bikes' styling.

That never bothered me. Everyone thought they were aftermarket.
