Amtrak Autotrain (motorcycles OK)

Ferries are way more comfortable.

I rode Amtrak once for 3 days from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania out west to Reno, Nevada in the early 2000s. By the end, I was ready to hop off and run the rest of the way.
