crafty:
Mrs. Wilkes restaurant for authentic southern cookin' - some of the world's best fried chicken.

SPScottNT:
If you make it out to Tybee, the Breakfast Club is must eat for breakfast.  Tybee Island Social Club is good for lunch and dinner and Huc-A-Poos seems like a Pizza Joint/Roadhouse/Treehouse blown ashore after a big storm (in a good way).  I would imagine few crowds and good rates on the beach in late February.   Have fun.

dilligaf:
Different strokes for different folks.  Back in the day Savannah was only a two hour ride and a favorite visit.  Then Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was published.  Been back one time since the book was published and "the real Savannah" was discovered.

handyandy:
Last time Mary and I were there we stayed at the Dunes on Tybee. Reasonable price + some rooms have kitchenettes. Byo pots and pans if you like to find local seafood. Stingrays next door. Have fun exploring.

dilligaf:
Most of Savannah, as is Charleston, is owned by folks from afar.  Nothing more discussing than some "Yankee"  cooking grits.
