The point at which the reserve light comes on will vary from bike to bike, even in identical units. The fuel level sensors just aren't that consistent. My Norge will get between 35-45 miles maximum from when the reserve light comes on, so I suspect it comes on at about 0.9 to 1.0 gallons left. Typically, my bike (with its mods) gets 40-43 mpg, so my theoretical best range is about 240 miles. I usually fill up at the first good opportunity after 180, almost always before 225.
ive never avged over 40mpg on my breva/// 50+mpg???? no way
My highway mileage is usually around 47mpg with a high of over 50mpg. Sometimes only 45mpg.I should be able to make about 258 before getting really low. 47mpg x 5.5gallons.
It's strange that a 550 lb motorcycle can get just slightly better mileage than a Passat TDI (40 mpg on average commute of city/highway).
Just curious which mods. That is a little bit better than I get with my stock bike.
I'm an idiot. I just realized that we are talking about the 2V engine. I have a 2013 with 4 valves per side. Doh!
My Breva runs exceptionally well. It was set up and is serviced, when needed at RoseFarm. With that, I have never seen milage anywhere close to 50 plus.I average anywhere from 37.5 to 44 mpg. I do have a few caveats, 98% I am using Chicago blend gas/ethanol, I ride pretty hard all the time, and I almost never ride very near the speed limit, and I'm pushing 250Lb in my birthday suit. Perhaps if I were to travel on a tank at 60-65mph I might get upper 40s, but I have never had the patients to find out.
aerodynamics plays a huge role in that.
