Will be riding up to Wisconsin from Tennessee for the guzzi rally’s (whenever it is).  Will invite my two sons who live in Green Bay to ride over with me.  One has a Kawasaki and the other is bikeless now.  Should be a blast!  Woo hoo

Thanks for the information, Ed. Would you mind sharing a photo of the under seat area? I'm interested to see if the redesign brought about a better area for holding the OEM tool bag. On my 2022 V7 850 E5 anytime I lift the seat the tool pouch falls out. I added a bag to the underside of the seat so that wouldn't happen with my documents.

one bit of parts trivia we'd share

the new 2026 V7 E5+ models are a unique fitment of saddles.  Older ones do not fit.  And the new ones dont fit on older 850s.  The new E5+ ECU is under the back section of the saddle, seat pan is way different.  Moreso, the location of the latching pin changed a couple inches.  MG did make a bunch of new accy saddles for E5+ models.

3 overall V7 saddle fitments now

26 (25 model in EU) E5+
21-25 E5
then the 750s--  classics, I, II, III were all interchangeable with each other.

General Discussion / Re: New To Me 2016 Eldorado 1400
« Last post by TN Mark on December 15, 2025, 12:27:23 PM »
Last Friday I snuck out for the day to ride the Eldorado. The weather was sunny and 60F by the time I got home. It was just a little round trip from Chattanooga, TN to Sevierville, TN and back. An easy, scenic and fun little 270 mile ride.
Up on beautiful 2 lane back roads and back down on the interstate.

I said it before, but: the 1400, with the GTM fueling system combined with the GTM full exhaust, punches amazingly far above its weight. The bike is running the GTM base map which the system was shipped with. These two systems are fantastic complements to each other. Strangers at gas stations not only comment on how beautiful the Guzzi is, but also on how nice it sounds.

If you’ve been thinking about these upgrades, stop procrastinating and go for it. If you haven’t considered these two GTM systems, do so. You’ll be richly rewarded from the purchases. You’ll likely also realize what your Guzzi was capable of all along.

I’m anxious to see what tweaks, if any, GTM thinks the map may need.
Sadly for me, that will have to wait until I can ride again after knee replacement surgery this week.

But, there’s coming a day!

This recent ride I averaged 36.55 mpg and the ride out to Alabama earlier this month for lunch I averaged 35.65 mpg. So, it’s pretty consistent. I did not rely on the bikes mpg software and instead used the trip odometer divided by gallons to refill. My speedometer does read about 4mph faster than the gps at 75mph.

Would the Calibration feature on the 1400 'fix' the speedomter error or is that just inherent in how the speedometer reads speed?

Less is more. That’s just me. Give me a van, and a sleeping bag, im good…

I’ve followed two friends as they hit the road after work.

First was a renovated custom skoolie, sold that

2nd was a mobile home, sold quickly

Lastly they chose a towing truck with a mid sized trailer because they fit the size requirements of the parks and they can pull up and settle in with the trailer for weeks at a time, but the truck takes them everywhere in the area without disrupting the camp

They do hit up the smaller parks and find volunteer spots at some locations to keep their brains working

Great folks who really acclimated to On The Road (jack Kerouac content)

Sounds like great fun

Happy campers

Ah, were it just me, I'd be in an old school pop top Wesphalia with a Subaru motor transplant and tug along a MC. However, the Lovely Mrs Bulldog and grandkids would not be happy in such settings for cross country 1-2 month long trips. Thus, we don't have an RV we have a Mobile Bed & Breakfast

General Discussion / Re: Sodium Ion Battery
« Last post by Perazzimx14 on December 15, 2025, 10:08:44 AM »
Earlier this year I found that a battery is more than just the CCA it puts out, you also need adequate AH. I put a new LiFe battery (400CCA/5AH) in my Buell that was 180 CCA more than the OEM AGM battery and as soon as you hit the starter the amperage would drop and the battery would trip out on the BMS safety. Pull the fuse the BMS would reset and the bike might start. Took the battery back thinking it was faulty and got replacement. Same thing. Took this back and went with a 220CCA/10AH AGM (close to OEM) battery and the bike started every time, all the time. Turns out the CCA was more than enough but the Amp Hours was not enough and when you hit the starter the power inrush the starter needed dropped the amperage well below what the battery could provide and trip out on safety. So now when buying a battery I'll check not only the CCA is enough but also the Amp Hour rating.

In short what the OEM calls out for in CCA and AH is the minimum you want in a replacement.
