power bank/jump starter?
« on: August 03, 2015, 06:34:25 PM »
Guy at coffee was touting a power bank/jump starter. Small enough to fit in a tank bag, it can be used to jump start a bike or recharge cell phones, etc. Apparently you plug it in to a 110 outlet to charge it and it's good for three months. Found some on Amazon for less than $100. Sounds too good to be true. Anyone here have any experience with one?

I don't think any modern Guzzi will run with a bad battery so if you got it started you probably won't get far. unless you just left the dome light on and the batt went down.

Carry one of these 24/7 it charges my blutooth speaker, cell phone, ipod, sena voice, girlfriend's vape pen...

And yes it will jump a car even when it's down to 1/4 charge

My dad owns a wrecker service in SC, he turned me onto it.  He uses one for all his jump-offs... he says its faster than messing with cables and it comes with a car charger so it's always topped up.

I work with a couple of guys that use them. A good one will start about any gas powered car or pickup truck. Like anything, there are a ton of different ones available at several price points. Do a little research so you don't end up with a dud.  :boozing:

I have one, did some research before buying, Anti-Gravity seems to be the most appreciated brand.  I have used it once to jump start a car, several times to charge phones etc.  Works a treat!!

I've had one for more than a year, maybe two. Works very well. I've jump started cars & bikes - very much appreciated at rallies, and also use for phones & tablets - very useful on international flights when the seat USB connection is U/S )often enough). Goes with my luggage on trips. Last trip one of the wires in the 240v charger separated at its terminal - a dab of solder should fix it. Recommended. Only about twice the size of jumper leads, but much more useful & convenient.
