Cool video, there’s a 2016 Roamer at my local dealer going cheap. Demo bike that never sold with less than 1k on it. Around $4k cheaper than the new V7’s he has in stock. Should I buy it ??

She told me to just go ahead and buy something if I want... Borrow from house funds to make up the difference between my bike fund and the purchase price.

Maybe I'm hesitating because I fear it must be a trick. [emoji23]

Or because we're about to spend as much on a vacation!

Sounds familiar. My wife said go ahead and trade the V7 and get the V9, then told me there were a few things she would like to get for the house.  We already had two nice vacations this year. Took our son and grandson to Disney in March and then her and I went out to Colorado for a little over a week.

Ha ha, no actually it was more of a "how much do you have in your bike fund? Well, if you want it just buy it. Just borrow the rest from the house fund no big deal."

Not a hint of sarcasm.

Obviously, I only know you from the board here over these many years, but just based upon what I know, recall from your garage and such, I do think you'd like the V9 a good bit.  The slightly forward pegs - again, if I remember correctly from previous posts - might actually suit you more ergonomically and you'd likely feel right at home from the get go in the turns and such, this with your HD driving experience.  Contrary to what a lot of folks on here say, you may even find the V9 to be as good or even (gasp) better handler for you.  The V9 engine still remains my favorite of the Geese I've owned.  So useable, so efficient, so smooth.

I really do need to ride one.

Buy leftover V9, transfer tank from V7, sell V7?    Or just keep both....

To each his own but I've never been much for Franken bikes.  Then again, I think my 950 Supermoto is gorgeous to my eyes so there's some screwed goggles for ya.   :boozing:  I've seen some folks on here argue they want to change the tank not for looks, but rather, for greater capacity; yet, my former V9 got significantly better mpg numbers than my former '15 Stone and my '17 V7III, so much so that it made the issue a non-issue for me.  And while I think both bikes are just gobs of purdy, I still think the Roamer
steals my heart.  I mean just look at that thing!  Kind of basic, not shouting at ya, just a blasted sweet looking ride.  I sold that thing?

If the V9 had launched with that beautiful V7 tank & range... I'd have been first in line to trade up.
Old enough to say I've done it, young enough to do it again.

Can't really sell the V7 w/o a fuel tank, and certainly don't want to inflict the V9 tank on it.
Just buy a V7 tank to put on it.    I might even consider selling the extra that I have.

Don't shoot the messenger, but the V9's just lack the look and appeal of the V7,  Why for Christ's sake put a 16" wheel on the rear?  Guzzi with so much style and history to draw from struggle to get on board with the market trends.  Well except for price.  They have the knowledge skills and talent to do so much better with the small blocks.  Put some decent sized wheels 120/60-17 F., 160/60-17 R, 75 HP, with a base model and upgrades to adjustable suspension and other options for touring and like magic they re a real player in the global market.  They only nee to look at BMW, Ducati, Yamaha for inspiration.

Don't misunderstand love MG's  Just a more to Love.
