Deadwood, the movie
« on: November 06, 2018, 08:25:21 AM »
It's true.   Bullock and Swearengen are back to celebrate South Dakota statehood.  A sequel to the best and most vile show in history.

A Shakespearean Western littered with obscenities and profanities with plenty of sex, blood and guts.  There is no mention of Woo feeding corpses to the pigs however (perhaps that was a condition for statehood?).

Oh my.  It's about time for another "fix" from those characters.  The series could be used as a drinking game for as often as the word c--- sucker was used!

Looks pretty interesting!

We went to see the Farrokh Bulsara story last Saturday

Good music, and the actor that played Freddie did a fantastic job. But it had to get sappy.............. .

It was one of my favorite HBO series’. Great characters and superb writing. Well acted, too. The movie should help to tie up all the loose ends left when the show was suddenly discontinued. Sorta like the “Serenity” film did with the Fox series, “Firefly.” This is most welcome news...

Anxiously awaiting!!!   I so enjoyed Deadwood then....    As much as I really enjoyed Firefly then...  Thank goodness Justified continued and when it was time to run it's course they ended it properly.

Huge fan of both Deadwood and Justified. I was a bit salty about how HBO ended Deadwood. Looking forward to the movie!

As much as I absolutely love Ian Mcshane...the women on Deadwood punctuated the broadstrokes the male character's made in an incredible way.  Paula Malcomson was superb.  I began watching Ray Donovan because she was sooooo good in Deadwood.

I'm looking forward to the movie but I'll miss Powers Boothe.

We're looking forward to it, especially since the original series had no ending.

I always figured that Al Swearengen's name was a tongue in cheek creation by the writers, since he was truly a swear engine.  It was later that I learned he actually existed.

How many here remember Ian McShane as Sue Ellen Ewing's boyfriend on Dallas?
