Title: Flat head Ford powered Looper
Post by: oldbike54 on June 11, 2016, 07:08:09 PM
Talking to Gliderjohn about odd offbeat mechanical devices , and I mentioned the copper colored stretched Eldo (I think ?) with the flat head ford motor . Can't remember where I saw this thing , anyone have a picture ? Seems John is a bit skeptical re the existence of this beast , he may be right, might have been in a dream

There was a guy out here that had moved from Nebraska.  He had stuffed a Mitsubishi Colt 4 cylinder into an Eldo frame.  I told him when I  met him.  "You must have had a lot of time on your hand."   Saw him once.  Don't know what happened to the bike or him.

With its' smooth torque and long wheelbase, it's a natural for a sidecar.

I remember seeing one in the early 2000s in Cycle world in one of their American Flyer series. I remember the guy that commissioned  used it as a model for a Hot Wheel toy.  Believe that he was the owner of Hot Wheels.

Looks nice.  Apparently,  the panels hiding the radiator are taken off while ridden.  Electric fan behind?

A very talented local guy hand made this V-8 bike engine and adapted it to a BMW frame.

The panels seem to be open at the front, forming air scoops.  You can see them from the front view photos.
