Kickstand Extension Pad
« on: April 19, 2021, 12:37:06 PM »
Since adding so lightly longer fork springs and rear shocks to my V7, I wanted to knock out the extra lean that my V7II now has when the side stand is down. Found nothing model specific, so I gave this $40+ aluminum piece on Amazon a shot.

Fits the stand foot almost perfectly, just a hair loose depth-wise. I’ll see what a cut-out piece of super thin cutting mat does for shimming. A tad heavier than I expected. Should provide enough of a riser to ease my tip-over concern and provides a wider foot for those sandy / dirt areas. Definitely adding some blue loctite.

Hockey puck and a couple #8 screws also work a treat at widening the footprint and lessening the lean angle.

Yeah, I should’ve thought of that before buying something, but for some dumb reason I was hesitant of the idea of drilling into the stand’s footpad... even though I considered having something welded on.

$12 China cheapie from eBay. Had to use slightly longer screws which got blue thread lock treatment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Motorcycle-CNC-Kickstand-Sidestand-Extension-Pad-Plate-Foot-Side-Stand/174536871700
