OEM V7 Stone crash bars

AF1 have the OEM crash bars for the V7 for $69.00 dollars.

My question is this crash guard OK? The price is odd to me.

Would like to see a picture of it mounted on a bike and maybe some comments good or bad.

The site show a rather vague picture of it mounted on an older smaller headed bike. The picture is chop showing little of the bike, hard to tell what it really look like mounted. Can't tell if it would clear the newer heads or not.

Harbor Freight price on this thing.

This video shows the installation, but they put it on BACKWARDS.  

CAUTION : I would CALL them to make sure it will fit with the larger cylinders on the new V7's - 2013 and up.

No, the video was just a mistake. They should only mount one way, the correct way.

I agree with all of the replies.  I got an OEM crash bar, part number GU973217200008, from RPM cycle, and put it on my '13 V7 Stone shortly after I got the bike in May 2013.  The bike looks like it left the factory that way.  Very solid, trouble free bar.  And, yes, it does work.  I've dropped the bike on both sides, and each time the bars protected the heads, with no damage to the bars, either.  Yes, I know, I'm a klutz.

One caution:  choose the side attaching bolts carefully.  If they're too long, you can drive the ends into the soft aluminum crankcase when you tighten them against their lock nuts.

I had a set briefly, and I believe I sold them to JAS67 (on this board) years ago. I think I had to pull a header off, and I didn't care for the way they looked on my bike once mounted. Here's the Breva bars on my bike, and you don't really notice them once painted. I don't know if they'll clear the cylinder on the newer models.

i run the OEM guards, purchased from Newport Italian, also paid $69. I'm pleased with them, but they took some effort to wrap around and install, believe it or not.

I've got the new-style Agostinis on my '14 V7S. They are a bit bigger to accommodate the newer valve covers/heads. My bolts were not too long, they were too soft. Two have snapped post-installation. Second one supplied by the dealer. At that point I gave up and bought my own better-quality replacements. So far so good.

And no, they did not snap due to ham-fisted tightening skills on my part.

I wonder what the triangular plastic cover is for.
it won't fit at the top mount due to the postion of the voltage regulator

I noticed the lower mounting bolts are angled downward.  it looks like they replace 10mm bolts that are already in the frame and those bolts do not appear to be angled.
I won't know until i take it apart

That plastic cover replaces the existing one above the voltage regulator. You'll see when you have at it.

My '13 V7 Stone did not come with a plastic cover above the voltage regulator, and the parts manual for this bike doesn't show a cover.  I suspect that earlier bikes with the same, or a similar, frame did have a cover, and that at some point the manufacturer decided none was needed (probably not a cost-saving decision; the thing couldn't have cost more than $0.25 to manufacture).

Might as well put it on, anyway. There should be a spot above the VR that you can bolt it to. It's really just a filler piece, but might help keep debris off of the underside of the tank and some of the wires. If you don't want to install it, then you have an extra shuriken to throw around!

my 13 special does not have the cover but doee havr a smller plastic cover between the  frame rails and  a cable passes through the frame above the volt reg preventing the instalation of the larger cover provided with the bar kit.
it looks like the bar will fit  without the upper bolt spacers. has anyone mounted it without the upper spacers between the bar and the frame?

Mine ('14 V7S) had/has no regulator cover, nor did the Agostini guard come with one. I did use the upper spacers, since it made little sense to me not to do so.

I used the upper spacers as the bolts lined up better with them but the bar will go on without them
