I've been reading about the 650 Lario4 valve heads. 60 hp. 379 poundsWhy did they abandon 4 valve heads for the small blocks?
You might think, at first glance, that Dusty was just being snarky with his comment...not entirely so. The Lario 4V head had a bad habit of snapping a valve stem, with an awful outcome. Others here, with much more experience, can give you more details. Guzzi must have figured out the solution because they sold a similar engine for aircraft use and that seems to be a real winner. Chuck in Indiana is the go to person about that project.Peter Y.

They would keep the heads on the valves if you stayed 1000 rpm from the redline. Most owners can't control themselves. Like a junkie w/a habit.
