I spotted a car up in Auckland this week, some strange make I didnt recognize . I walked over and looked at the registration sticker. TRAILER home built it reads, Im sure that will fool the police Our rego labels have the vehicle make, year and plate number printed on them.
When I first got my rebuilt '53 Royal Enfield 500 Bullet all done I slapped my Rocket 3s number plate (with rego sticker) on it and took it for a test ride to Riverton. It's a distance of about 30 miles. It bomped along nicely enough but Murphies law applied and I got pulled over in Riverton. "Not to worry" said the cop, "I just wanted to have a look at the bike." It was kind of rare in NZ, in fact may possibly be the only 500 version in the country. We chatted for a while but as we parted the cop said "It's a bit funny looking for a BSA you know!" He didn't give me a ticket though.
You mean this guy?

Mostly drunk Russians, looks like. For ones I've actually seen, what amazes me is how many newbies, their VERY first time on a bike, or maybe on a big bike, will grab a huge handful of throttle and dump the clutch, and lose it. Every time I got on a new bike as I was learning, I stalled it ten times before I finally got it rolling, not wheelieing into a tree, pinning the throttle all the way ....Lannis
