I was going to pipe in that to me, the Breva 750 was obviously lighter than my V11 and I believe your V7 Racer isn't far off from a Breva 750 in weight.

Personally, I'd think the new V9 platform (if adapted to standard) would be your best bet.

All,

To the point:  Spock won over Bones.  Logic over emotion.

Fact:  I am a poor motorcycle mechanic.  My bifocals struggle to focus on small parts  Had big struggle that I gave up on just this morning trying to install a Dart windscreen on my Triumph-- original flyscreen replace not as easy as described in instructions..

Fact: simple is good, and a prime retirement goal is less stuff, and more experiences.

Fact:  we are still busy as hell assembling this new house, with lots of unpacking, etc yet to achieve

Fact:  I have two wonderful bikes, and if I get a light touring bike, ABS is a key goal.

Fact:  HQ reminded me of all the above, and she is much smarter than I am.

Thanks for all the help.  I truly appreciate the comments.  Johnson as owner has been fantastic:  incredible communication and transparency. All the discussion should reveal a BUYER for this fine V11, at full price.

Thats why I have a vStrom and a V11 Lemans.  Sometimes logic wins and sometimes emotion wins, so its good to have both bases covered...

AlanP,

My V7R and Triumph 675 STRX pretty much check both heart and mind boxes:  heart and mind.  Still looking for a light touring bike with good wind protection, upright geometry, reasonable weight, and modern storage and ABS brakes.  Sooner or later.

Took STRX out yesterday for about 80 miles.  Dang what a fun bike.  Rode to Rosharon to view the just below flood stage Brazos River. Bike gave no problems after the no-idle abrupt die side of busy rode episode over a month ago.  Building confidence in the bike again.

Saw where Johnson's incredible, fantastic, just right everything V11 Le Mans has one bid on eBay.  Come on you V11 fans:  get your checkbooks out.  This bike deserves full price.

My spiney is a great handling bike.  It has good midrange and can handle the canyon roads with anything up to a 100.  enough for me.

If you're a perfectionist, you might want to know if the rash on the fairing can be fixed and paint matched.

Light touring bikes.  Beemer F800GT.  I have heard they fixed the vibration problems from the ST version.  If they didn't cost so much I'd go try one.  I had a Honda NT700 and it was pretty good.  I just would have liked a little less weight and/or a little more power.  Until then my T5/SPIII mix works well and I'll stick with it.

That sure is a fine specimen.

Very nicely appointed. Anybody who just wants a stock bike could probably sell about $1,000 worth of aftermarket parts from that one and get it for a very low net price. Heck, just the shop stand is worth a few hundred bucks, then the racks/bags, extra seat, etc.

If I didn't already have two of them........

Hey...you stirred up this hornet's nest, I think it's only right that you buy it now Greg and sell the Triumph to some other avid rider so you can have a pure 2 Guzzi garage - undiluted by the Trooommmppphhh...  :)

20 or so minutes to go, and still priced too low. We'll see if the robots run it up in the last 30 seconds.

Somebody got a hell of a deal. $3995.  Easily worth another thousand, but at this particular time that's all it brought. I feel bad for the seller..

Don't feel bad for me, I got massive amounts of enjoyment from the  Le Mans during the time I owned.  Well worth the price of ownership.  While I would have been happy to have gotten a higher price, it isn't like I need the money to eat, or otherwise survive.  I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did.

I came VERY close to sniping it at the end...indecision got the best of me.
I've been Guzzi-less and motorcycle-less since 2001, when I sold my '95 Sport 1100. I thought that bike would look great with a Tenni green respray.

Absolutely.. and the right attitude. After all, these things are toys. If we have fun playing with them, what more could we ask?

Late to the party but I had the same rash on one side from a phantom low speed, low side in the garage.  I got a recent quote to color match and repaint.  it was about $380.  I got a new one from Italy via Moto International  for around $425 or so.  One of the last red ones on the planet.
