LM1 windscreen
« on: December 12, 2022, 12:19:00 PM »
I'm looking for a LM1 windscreen but balk at $180 for a small bit of plastic. I'd think fifty or sixty would be more realistic - but I'm evidently way behind the curve stuck in the 80s.

What solutions have you guys come up with? Anyone offering these things reasonably? Have you made it yourself?

It's a compound curve so probably needs a mold - something I haven't done, but doesn't seem impossible. Getting the plastic is easy, and in fact, I've got some giant damaged windscreens perfect for the project. Making it myself also makes sense since it's quite possible I'll want a few.

Any advice or help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Charlie! That's more like it!

I forget the exact prices I saw, but Gustaffson was at least $140 - but I seem to recall 180.

Their screen is likely better quality than the European aftermarket ones, but $189!? Doubt they sell many...
