engine/transmission build video
« on: November 23, 2022, 03:16:29 PM »
I've noticed many new names over the last year or two, and thought this might be a good intro to the Guzzi drivetrain. Doesn't show some of the "tricks of the trade" but shows how it all goes together.

Fascinating to watch. Thanks for posting! It’s always a pleasure to watch deft hands assembling or working on a Guzzi engine.

I've been told that he apparently put one of the selector forks in backward..  as I said though.. it's just an overview of how it all goes together for newbies.

That explains why the was no cursing while installing the shift drum.  :boozing:  I didn't see him struggle with shims either.

But more important, who ever get to work on anything that is that clean.

Yeah, I didn't see the "Special Guzzi Tool" (a bent up coathanger) that is necessary to assemble the transmission.

I never understand why people try assembling transmissions blind, in the case when it's so much easier to assemble them on the back plate where all is visible. Then drop the case over the assembled geartrain.

I watched one Pete Roper had mentioned on the Ghetto, The newbe took the whole front of motor off to extract the motor in a CARC bike. Leaving trans & swingarm intact. Spent 3 times longer to do the clutch job. Like forums lots of wrong info in video's and social media. I tell everyone I don't do youtube I have a brain.
