I've already done the homework on upgrading six piston tokicos. Your best bet are a set of shindy nissin  calipers.

Thank you for the info. That is something I had thought about doing but that was put on the back burner until I do the internals I want/need to do, new wheels, carbon exhaust, etc., etc., etc........LOL

Superbike toy store used to carry these in stock can't remember the name of the entity that took over from basically they are not that had to find for some of the upspec Japanese sports bikes Brembos are fitted stock.

Oh yeah, that's one of the first things I'd like to do. The Tokico's seem sacrilegious on this bike. I've been planning on upgrading the front brake and clutch etc. on my Sport 1100 with brembo units as well so I might as well start buying stock in the company.....

You could always grind off the "Tokico" on the calipers and repaint them while you save money for some brembos. Make sure you match a M/C with any new calipers or braking performance could take a step backward.

How many miles on her? I spoke to Joe Caruso about the oil pump gears, he said 15k is the earliest he has heard of a failure. Mine will hit 8k soon this month...assuming I find where the gas is leaking from.

They look a lot better with the original white wheels and seat

Not sure about the (light grey as I recall) seat but yes I think the white wheels had a certain appeal.

However unless you want to be cleaning your wheels every time you so much as take the bike to the paper shop around the block, black is the way to go.

I also think they look good in black anyway, white wheels, are a like white pants, look good on a select few but definitely not on me.

Just my take on it, my Daytona started as factory with white wheels, they quickly got powdered coated to black

IMHO BB's bike look great

Thanks OJ!
If you look at first post in this thread you'll see the wheels were gold when I bought the Daytona. Unfortunately the previous owner had simply spray bombed them and by the end of the first season of ownership it was flaking off so I powder coated them black.

Yes.  There are others.  2 Daytona 1000's, 1 Daytona RS, 1100 Sporti, 2 Sport 1100's.   :thumb:

It seems if you have a Daytona, you need a Sport too. Most of the miles get put on the Sport, the Daytona has less than 8K miles.

I was really pleased with my '93 Daytona, my son's first reaction was "too bad about the white wheels" so he would think Blueboarhound's bike a 'proper' Daytona and mine just a girl's bike.

DD,

Mine was not original when I bought it which was okay with me. It still had the gray seat but it was starting to crack so I went with black when I had it reupholstered.

Not quite but I know where one of these lives, but it does not belong to me

Mine does have the Centauro/RS engine though, my bank manager is still in mourning
