What are good ways to raise the seat of a V7 III Racer?
« on: September 11, 2019, 07:14:39 AM »
Hi all,

I have been riding my V7 III Racer for over 6 months now and was wondering if there is a way to raise the seat as I find my legs a little uncomfortable during a long ride?

Thanks,

Voe

Have a good seat maker add material to the cover and add internal height.

Others have changed to lower peg position, you may want to look into that.

If only needing it for longer rides strap a sheepskin with a gel pad onto the seat, or an AirHawk pad, or one of those Coleman ATV seat pads you can buy at Walmart, or sew your own.

If needing permanent and there is enough extra material where the seat cover is fastened you could add an inch of closed cell foam between the seat foam and pan and staple it back down.

You will be amazed at the difference one inch makes when it comes to comfort.

This.
However, the shape can also be changed a bit to greatly increase the comfort of that seat.  As supplied, it's a touch narrow and a bit convex.  Easy to mod without harming the look.

Thank you all for your replies.

I found the below pictured part here http://www.motoguzzishoponline.ch/product.aspx?prd=EX/14003&pg=1&grp=accessori%20V7
which translated to English claims: "BAR UNDER SADDLE TO RAISE MOTO OF CM 2.5. In substitution of the originals or on the motorbikes which do not have them of series, with these bars you increase the height of the motorcycle without having to change the dampers."

But honestly I don't see how it could possibly fit under the seat, and the website seems not very trustworthy. Any idea if this could actually fit in?

Raising the seat itself will create a gap which might look strange.  Aren't dampers what Europeans call the shock absorbers?

Wouldn't that only raise the seat the longer you go  without stopping?
