Just finished changing out the fluid in the transmission and rear drive of the Mighty Scura. I'll really be glad to have this sucker back in Indiana. Bought a new helmet for California. My old Scorpion was ready for the dumpster. Almost didn't see some  uh distinguished lady pull out in front of me because of the evening sunset glare on my deteriorating face shield yesterday. Trying to peel the Sale (Guzzi content) sticker off of it as we type.  :boozing:

Waiting for the garage to heat up, I was doing a service yesterday on the wife's v7c to get ready to put it away for the winter when I noticed the bottom frame bolt on the drivers side was missing, under further review I found out it had sheared off, no biggie I got out my easy out and proceeded to destroy the kit. DUH. Got frustrated and was wondering what to do next when I called Jim at Rose Farm for advice, Jim patiently walk me through what I was going to have to do then said take a deep breath and have a beer and start in the morning, so I always take the advice of the experts and had a lot of beers, Thanks Jim, so when the shop heats up I will go take the bottom frame rail off and then go see if I can find another bolt and washer to put back in. That is what I'm doing kind of at the moment:)
Happy Holidays.

Right now? Reading this post AND setting up a time line preparation and plan for a cross the USA trip on my Jackal this coming summer. The other day my wife said to me in an offhand way that she feels like I need to make a long motorcycle ride before its too late. Hmm- what does she know that I don't?

Wavedog keep me posted on your route choice and expected time of departure.

Couple friends of mine and self will be riding in the U.S this summer as well.

That's two of us John.

My last day was yesterday, today I had my first day of being retired and very busy it was too. I had a special vacuum cleaner on order and it finally arrived. Braved the madding crowd driving to the other side of Christchurch to pick it up. On the way home I had to call in to get more stock of hearing aid batteries and then called in to a large hardware store and picked up a whole heap of cleaning equipment so I can do the odd heat pump clean here and there.
Afternoon was spent out to see the bro and catch up with his daughter and her family down on holiday, then home to mow the lawns. If I was tired before, well now I know why they call it retired!

I think I might go and have a  :boozing:

Procrastinating on WG instead of replacing a light fixture that was damaged when the water heater let go.  Why these things get put in attics is beyond me.  Yes, there was a catch pan, but it the drain couldn't keep up.  Spring project: move the blasted thing into the garage or store-room where it belongs.

Merry Christmas!

Right now I'm working on my other computer, its a Dell M4700 portable workstation laptop. I keep seeing "Plugged in, not charging" with the charger plugged in. Tried all the usual fixes such as reinstalling battery MCI driver, unplugging battery and rebooting then reinstalling, cleaned battery connections, Know good charger, etc

Needed to get away from it for a while and think about motorcycles

Hi Jon!

Gary K. Here, Having retired at 62 and being 70 now I think I have some experience in this department.  I am a natural born slacker that was forced to work for a living so it came easy for me.   But for me I always seem to find myself in a position where I have to much stuff planed to do!

This winter I had it all planned, pull the rear end off the Guzzi and fix the leak and check the gears, as it is leaking and running a little hot.   The 73 Triumph while running well is getting embarrassing to ride because of the smoke screen it produces, top end job needed.  If any extra time left, both the 76 BMW's are leaking more than they should.  Good plan, that's what winters around here are for.   About a month ago a 64 BSA Lightning magically appeared in my shop, hasn't run in years but very few miles and looks pretty good.  So much for all that planning!  Oh, and Ron Spargo talked me into taking his job of Pres. of the Viking Chapter.

You just need a project or two to occupy your mind and body, so in the spirit of Christmas I am willing to loan you any of my projects, even my heated garage to keep you busy!

Hope to see you at the holiday party and will try to bring those fork tools along to return to you.

Happy Holidays!
Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm dragging with a cold today.  Packing the van for a trip to Phoenix for two months towing a Wing wrapped in that clear stretch film.  Sorry I'll miss the Viking party.  I will be "monitoring" the AZ Guzzi club.  I'm planning on the News Years day ride to Tortilla Flats.  Have fun in the garage I'll be rubbing in sunscreen hopefully!

I am a bit late and the shops had all sold out, but my bro had some of the type I like....at least, that's my story anyway. Clear blue sky in a balmy evening, Breva running like a Swiss watch, wot's not to like! :thumb:
