Author Topic: What bikes do you currently have two of? (Same model, maybe different years?)  (Read 4119 times)

Same brand and model. Could lump series bikes like the V7 for example. How long before you got the second one?

Another example would be the Triumph Trophy which spanned generations but all were Trophy.

Looking for those you still have as opposed to ones you bought again to replace an older one.

Maybe I should have added which you are the most fond of? You can like them all but is there one that gets the nod more often?

Two toaster tank /5s, one T3. I'd love to trade in one of the /5s for a loop! Wouldn't mind a /2 while we're at it.

We have the '99 V11 EV Hack and the 2001 V11 California Jackal.

The Hack is fun and all but the Jackal is ridden more.

I have owned two or more Honda Hawk GTs at one time and two or more Honda CB550s at the same time.

Honda XR off road cycles don't count 'cause there are always several of those here.

Best,
Rob

Current double vision:
Two Californias in a '95 Carbifornia and the Calvin.
Two '82 Katanas.

Past repeat mistakes:
Had two TT500s and an XT at the same time till recently.

Sold the better of two '79 GS850Gs. Carbs, points and gobs of power but one really was needed more by a friend.

Bought two Cagiva WR250s at a literal "fire sale" from a dealer in N.C. but let one go years back.

Had two Scout IIs.
Two Evinrude 7.5s from 1958 in a plan to twin engine my LoneStar.
'72 Buick Skylark and a GS.
Several double ups and more in firearms.
Two American bulldogs.
Two "Carolina Dogs". If you like dogs, do yourself a favor and "Bing" that breed.

I get comfortable with formats.

Hell, I feel no shame in admitting to dating twins when I was younger and pulled that act off twice as well. Double your pleasure and all that.
Todd.

`79 V50 II and 81 V50 Monza. Same but different. Got the V50 first, then the Monza followed me home. V50 is an ongoing modification/personalization project, Monza footpeg position, ace bars, V7 Cafe seat, best around town or on back roads as it's geared low. Monza can do that but is geared higher so better on (ugh) highway, with too many otherwise perfect roads being between 2nd & 3rd gears. It's happy burying the Joan Claybrook Memorial Speedometer (indicated 80 mph) although I suspect that's wildly optimistic. V50 will cruise all day at 100 -- kph.

Old smallblocks are horrible things, give me yours for proper disposal  :boozing:.

2 x V7 - 2010 Classic & 2014 Special - the Special was too much of a bargain to pass up
2 x RE Electras - the first to replace the donor Electra for the Carberry, the second , another bargain - the PO cooked the big end, so cheap. Add a matched crank & rod, a 535 piston & a bore to fit, & voila, one with more torque for a pittance (relatively).

At present I prefer the V7S - it's the only one on the road. But looking forward to riding the (refurbished) V7C once more.
