Thanks for the reply Caffeineo.I think you have the right attitude. I decided to just order the system and I can always change it out if I don't like it and sell to recoup much of my money. I'll update this thread with my results. Now for the long wait...
Thanks for the assurance folks.Dave, that is a great looking bike. Very clean. Can I ask how much louder than stock is the exhaust + exagon slip-on?
That's great to hear Dave, thanks. I just want a bit more volume, but not to levels that would be irritating for everyday and touring use. Sounds like this will do the job perfectly!
I am one who never replaces stock exhaust. That is until I bought my V7III. THE mistral short pipes just go so well with the bike. I had no plans to change the V85TT exhaust, but the heat off the cat is unbearable even with thick leather riding boots. If I do change it, the heat will be the reason.
I just installed a MIVVY-pipe to replace the cat and reused the OEM muffler. Not the sound of a full system but much cooler running, cheaper, and still sounds throatier than stock.
I haven't investigated yet, but I'm told the 2022 bikes have welded one piece systems that have to be dealt with. Otherwise, I would do just what you did.
I finally received my mistral system. Looking to install it this weekend and will report back on this thread. One question for anyone with an E5 bike, though—Any advice on how to get to the lambda probe connectors? Looks like access is pretty tight next to the reg/rect unit. Looks like you might be able to detach the connector but it’s pretty stiff, don’t want to break it.
It's been awhile since I installed mine. The instructions were pretty good. It was quite easy, therefore the foggy memory.
Where did you all buy your systems? I’m thinking I won’t get my V85TT back for a while so I may wait until spring to look into a system.
