Fellas , no matter when we have CV , it will conflict with something . Are they even having the LA state rally next year , and the moto gp race in Austin , well , considering the volatile nature of gp racing who knows how long that will last  Seriously Gliderjohn has already expressed concern that moving it back a couple of weeks will lead to conflict with the Kansas state rally , so you can see my dilemma here . As I stated earlier , CV was never intended to be anything more than a small regional rally , but we have grown , and continue to grow , so we keep having it . Was just offering the folks jonesing for a national gathering that was centrally located and had a physical plant capable of handling a large crowd someplace to go .

Anyway , will need to make a decision in a week or so , logistical details need to be worked out with the town , and some of the attendees are making reservations . Speak up now , or forever hold your peace .

I'm leaning towards moving Sedur Vale back a bit.

Yes, it might make for two rallies in Kansas close together.  But nothing else ever happens in Kansas, right?   Ought to make them Kansas boys happy to have twice the action.  :cheesy:

Danged engineers  Back = later ,

Mike , the dates might depend on your being able to make it , being one of the original 6 , and travelling the greatest distance .

My concern is mainly for people riding in from out of state that would probably like to do both rallies but may end up having to choose between one or the other if they are close together. Whatever your opinions concerning MGNOC the Council Grove rally carries in the tradition of Kanas hosting longest stretch of Guzzi Rallies in the USA.

That's a good point John.   Looks like the 46th Annual Kansas Moto Guzzi Rally is scheduled for June 2-4, 2017.

It doesn't matter to me personally--I may go to both events anyway.

Looks like maybe May 5-7 would be the very latest workable dates . Basically 2 weeks later than the last 4 years . No way to predict the weather that far out . We want to respect the other events , but at some point a decision must be made . There were no LA rallies the last two years , due to either rain or lack of a promoter . The goal here is to balance the wants of the folks that have supported CV for the last 4 years , while giving consideration to Guzzi folks from colder climates who might like to attend . The decision will be made Fri of this week .

A couple of points , there is a small motel in town , and also a small hunting lodge with dorm style housing . Also , the pavilion is enormous , rain will not present any real issues . The town works with us to make the rally work , we just need a good head count . Thanks

That will be your toughest job. Getting a bunch of Guzzi people heading in the same direction is like herding cats. When Ron was doing the Virginia rally he told me that he figured attendance on 3X the pre registrations. That's what makes it so tough. You want and attendees expect to eat. When George does the Iowa rally, he makes it plain on how many he is prepared to feed. If you don't pre register, or just show up.. you might have to fend for yourself for food.  That makes perfect sense to me..

You--or somebody--needs to post a few pitchers of Cedar Vale, including the pavilion.   Give the folks who haven't been there a sense of what the scene looks like.

Sorry to disagree but LA Rally alive and well and was held last year.
1 week before Cedar Vale. We conned Mark  Perry into becomming LA State Rep and crowned him head Coon Ass and King of Homer.  We we're about to anoint him with hog fat and parade him naked through the town square, but Colleen Welch stopped us.

First or second weekend in May works for me and I might even convince some of the LA bunch to come along.

PS I'll bring the hog fat.

Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

Ewwww.   Jay posted a picture with a blue Triumph amidst the glorious Guzzis.

Is it really ok for Limey iron to attend a Guzzi rally?

thank the Guzzi gods for merging the new thread with the old cedar vale thread. This was Dusty's attempt at a coup d'état    wanting to have multiple Cedar Vale threads going at the same time.

OK folks , I've been on the phone with the mayor of Cedar Vale (yes , we have her cell #) There are 3 houses available for rental over the weekend , the motel will work with us , AND , there is a rancher just outside of town with a bunkhouse that will work with us . So , that should eliminate any concerns about lodging . The town will open the pool house which is next to the park for added restrooms .

So  who is in ? Will be calling City hall re setting up a pay pal account for deposits .

Before I commit to going, Dusty, are you going to have an expresso machine by the pavilion?

And what blend?  I'd like Medaglio D'oro Perugia "Dark Blend."

I prefer this blend because it packs a sweet and bright fusion of orange and chocolate notes with a lingering caramel and wine-like berry finish.

Make it three from Indiana.  I've modified my '17 Riding Calendar and will be there if my health holds.

Southeastern Kansas will be very green by May . It is much prettier than one might think . We can go South into Oklahoma down HW 99 , it will remind you of parts of Wyoming . There are even some good roads in the area . We are putting together a points of interest list .

Rich , we are looking forward to showing off NE Oklahoma and SE Kansas to you folks
