Built on a Monday
« on: March 08, 2018, 06:22:10 PM »
Rocker arm support casting not where it was supposed to be, bolt does don’t touch all the around!! This is from a 72 Eldo, had to machine the top and shorten the bolt so it wouldn’t block the oil feed to the rocker. Any of you Guzzi guys seen this before, 1st time for me!

How old do you think the guy is that made the mistake? Looks like the fixture moved.
No, I have not seen seen one like that.

I'd replace that rocker support if it came into my shop looking like that. Measure it against the one on the other side to make sure the rocker spindle distance, center-to-center, isn't off too. Dime a dozen, I have a drawer full and will send you one for free.

Thanks Charlie, I will get in contact with you by email. I think the casting had major core shift before machining was done, the operator was probably sipping some good Italian wine and never noticed what it looked like after machining. Whoever assembled the engine was into the vino also!! We still got 3 feet of snow on our lawn and it’s just started to melt the last couple of days so I have time to get a good used part.
