General Discussion / Re: Re-setting the service wrench icon on the V85's
« Last post by buck on Today at 06:30:53 PM »
I received the software update V31.51 (was V31.50)  from ICarsoft this morning.  It now works perfectly for resetting the V7-850 service wrench.

I received mine today, updated the software and got V3.50. Worked great for the V85, didn’t work on the V7. I sent them a log file. I imagine they’ll send me the same update.

Good lord, Turboguzzi, we need to shorten that link up to bring this thread’s layout back to sanity. Can you replace that text with this:

It's easier to just drop everything after and including the question mark:

I'm surprised at the 1/4" thread, that it's not metric!

When my all hard plastic stems broke I took the opportunity to swap out the originals for those from the 1TB V7, with flexible stems. Not perfect, still breakable, but better.
I've an idea too that blinkers might be country/market specific, so adjustments might have to be made.

You might need the block in the picture. Note that the bulbs are amber, not the glass.

no, not a "bleeder" tool,

menat an autobleeder nipple, also called speedbleeder.

Speaking of fork oil draining, could one simply tap a hole near the bottom and thread a 6mm/5mm whatever bolt for easy DIY oil draining?

And yes—plastic cable ties around the hose over the bleed nipples is the way to go! Let’s you pump to your heart’s content.

Removed the spark plugs from the Roamer today, after 11,700 miles from new. They should have been replaced after 6200 miles according to Guzzi.

I completely ignore the interval. I definitely don't replace them every time I check the valves, but I couldn't even tell you a mileage for which I shoot.

I might have changed them once or twice since 2012 on my MkI V7 Stone.

Doesn't matter as long as the gap is ok.

The ground on the smallblocks is earthed to the bellhosing, RHS, if that helps.

Re bleeding the brakes - came across a tip recently - use a cable tie to hold the hose to the nipple.
Going to test this before the weekends camping trip.
Today we're bleeding the NTX's brakes. Planning to try reverse bleeding here.
At least I don't have linked brakes - I've witnessed the difficulties some have with these.

You forgot to moan about changing the fork oil. On the V7 at least, the forks have to come out,
& to do that, the whole front of the bike has to be removed or loosened & pulled aside. It can be done, its
Not complicated, but it seems like a lot of unnecessary kaffufle.

The NGK with lots of letters to describe the model looked fine, but the edge of the center electrode pointing towards the side electrode had become noticeably rounded. Perhaps I could file the center electrode sharp again, but I think it is better to just replace them.
