So you'll all be sick of my science experiments and I'm planning now to rip the HiCam engine apart and get the mains and journals sized. Before that though I needed to replace the seals on the 1100 which I think are toast due to blow by, now hopefully cured.
I've started at the front (easiest) and thought while I had the 1100's front mains visible I'd repeat the experiment that I did on the Hi Cam with the 1100 which has good pressure to see if I got oil leakage from it and if so what it looked like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VolqF7h0spwSpot the difference, it's pretty obvious that the front mains on the Hi Cam has too large a clearance, I don't know yet if that's the whole problem or simply part of it.
However it does prove that there is something awry with the front mains on the HiCam and might be useful for anybody who was wondering what a good and bad clearance looked like
