Problem with remapping ECU 2013 V Stone
« on: June 11, 2019, 10:46:05 AM »
Hello everyone. I've purchased the recommended cables, installed the correct drivers and downloaded the appropriate software. The Reader program works, and I was able to save the current map although it is not shown under temp files but the computer is able to find it eventually as a temp.bin file.
However with the Reader program when I click the dots in the little window I'm not being able to find the needed file (V7 Stone). I have searched allover the computer for this file to no avail. Where is it?
I'm using a Windows 7 platform btw. And yes I've followed the instructions word by word also which are quite easy in addition to reading lots of postings. This is a 2013 V7 Stone with Mistrals.
Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't think it works like that, the reader puts files in your documents. If you want to look them up you either go into temp or there is files in the GuzziDiag folder they dump there.
You have to use the writer program to locate the file TO put in, even though you abort you can still search your bin files.
I don't think you can search with the reader only w/the writer.

Search around as Steve said.  It may be in your Downloads or Documents.  Since I have only done this myself 3 times over a period of 3 years I always fumble around looking for the file.  But always find it

And I see this was your first post!  Please take a moment to introduce yourself.

I guarantee the hardest part of the process is finding the file 😀the rest is dead simple

First up, I think you a referring to the Writer when you say you click on the three dots.

When reading the map from the bike, the Reader will save it to the folder you selected with the browser window. It's not placed randomly. When you click the 'Read' button, it defaults to the folder that the Reader is being run from. I suggest creating a 'GuzziDiag' folder, and put GuzziDiag, Reader & Writer in there. When you save the map from your bike and the browser window opens, type the name you want to call it, and click 'Save'. It will save it in the same 'GuzziDiag' folder. Now, when you run the Writer, if the map is in the same folder, it will appear in the browser window without having to search for it. The Writer program will only see maps of the correct type for your bike, so make sure you are using the correct version. In your case, the IAWMIUG3Writer.

You haven't said what map you are writing. Are you just going to write your saved map as a test, or do you have a new map?
