I broke the signal light
« on: August 18, 2022, 01:03:57 PM »
Do not worry I did not topple my bike. Signal light just got too strong hit and broke. My mistake.

At first I tried to glue it, but that showed up a'la Mission Impossible. Next I checked could I find one from Ebay etc. I actually found few but they were not cheap at all. Someway I was also bit pissed of the construction of light (while I tried to glue it) and fact ... these are made from plastic.

So in the end ... I ended to buy these (4 new signal lights). These are made from steel. These are pretty same size, but much heavier. Should be much stronger as well.

Knowing how my bike looks front ... I think these will fit fine. I like the fact the color is orange and not white. These can be seen easier.

Nope I will not try to glue it anymore .  It is broken where the bolt will exactly connect light to bike (further hole) ... thin plastic area. The hole were wires comes into light is ok. Normally with signal lights those are one and same (place), but not with these original light.

Anyway I already have those new signal lights which I prefer more. I'm busy now on weekend, but next week I will install them.

Ebay. I like those are made from metal and even have small visors like rest of my lights (except tiny LED lights down).

I like the retro look of those lights.  JB Weld works but the amount you need to use is more like rebuilding rather than gluing.  BTDT. Good work.  :thumb:  Are these lights plug-ins or do you need to convert the plugs?
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉

Thanks. I like look of them too. Plus signal light is pretty dark/deep orange.

Installation of rear signal lights were pretty easy ... I just need to make holes bit bigger in my bike (of course that was metal, but anyway). Also to get wires go nicely I needed to make 2small extra holes to mudguard. I solder wires (perhaps some Abico connectors have been better?). Still looks work ok now.

Opposite front signal lights will need some extra thinking/time out. If signal lights will be installed same ways as originals then you can not tightened lights.
Also I someway would want to get them more wider, if possible. Above of fog lights.

Something like these could work (2 in one side).
