V7 II Stone Saddle Release Cable inside Left Side Cover
« on: May 31, 2017, 07:52:32 PM »
Hi, guys,

I'm looking for a picture of the inside left side cover that shows the saddle release latch cable
where it hooks to the key lock.  There's a piece of metal with a hole in it that the cable end slides in to to that has about a 30 degree angle on it. When you look at it you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for any help...

Jim,
I took some pics of the arrangement on my Stone, but they're too out of focus to be of much help.  The metal piece that the cable end fits into has a 90 degree bend, not 30.  Maybe your problem??

Malik,

Thanks for the effort to post those pics. The set-up on mine (V7 II) is little bit different.
I have some (approx. 1") lead (pronounced: leed) cable from the cable sheath to where
it attaches to the key cylinder.

Anyhow, after speaking with MI in Seattle, we kind of determined that there is a kink in
it, and that's why it's not functioning properly. I ordered two (2) cables, just to have an
extra on hand, since they were pretty inexpensive. They won't be here for a week or two,
so I'll have to find something else to occupy my time.

Hopefully this will solve my dilemma...thanks again.  :thumb:

If I come across a II on the ride today, I'll see if I can take photos. There's next to no free play in that cable, even on my ones, so a kink or a bad routing will likely jam the lock. We like cheap fixes.
