V9 bobber - Debaffle Exhaust?

Hi Guys,

I am a uni student and use V9 Bobber for commute.

Has anyone tried to cork or debaffle stock exhaust? I love the twin engine sound.

As I m on budget, it will be hard to buy Agostini.

For less than $100 u can get a set of Dunstall replicas on line. $20 for new gaskets and away u go. Sound just ax good as the high buck ones.

Checked out the Dunstalls. They look good but it seems they only come in chrome. On a Bobber would not be a good look. Too bad as the price is fantastic.

Stumble upon some flat black megaphone exhaust, that will go nice on bobber.

Believe me I would love to find a more affordable after market set of mufflers for my Bobber. But another $900 for the real deal Augostini units isn't happening this year. Just bought the bike late last August and have shelled out for a better seat, crash bars, windshield and a center stand kit. So when I saw Vagrant's answer to your post I jumped at checking it out.
As for just attempting to modify the stock mufflers I would be real worried I would wind up with something that messed up the fuel mapping and may well sound like crap anyway.
At this point I am just going to put some miles on with the stock set up and maybe do the Aguostini's next year. I will see what the stocks sound like after some more mileage.

Be careful, if you put on some open mufflers you might need a remap. Dont know the details of the bobber but newer engines run generaly very lean and you could loose power and get a bike that runs like crap.
