Hello all.

I am curious what bike/bikes you have in your garage? Only Guzzis or other bikes as well? Share.  :cheesy:

This is what i have.

<snip>

Also a Suzuki Volusia 800 and a ATV.

Interesting thread starter.

I liked all of yours, even tho I really did not know what all were.

And a FIAT, too.   :thumb:

The responses from others were equally compelling.  Fun to look at and -- even if only a list -- muse on.

Here's my moto-harem, and all Mandello maidens.

Man one cool super bug  :thumb: :thumb:  Nice plan RG :thumb:

Other than the running boards, what else does it need? Rebuild the engine, etc.etc?

We have owned the VW since the late 90's and I picked away at a half hearted restoration ever since. I would often just let it sit for long periods of time then rekindle and go like a house afire and do stuff.
I actually lost interest in the car for some time after the second MGB showed, we had kids in college etc and I recently decided to get back to it.
The remaining tasks are not a big deal and I will hire it all out finally.

The Beetle status:

All the mechanical stuff on the chassis has been done, steering, shocks, brakes etc, the front end has dropped from axles with disc brakes.  New heater channels years ago, always stored inside since, floors are excellent.
Body is painted, new body seals, window seals, door seals..
Original wheels with new tires.
This will certainly not be a big ta-do for a qualified shop.

I have made arrangements for a local Air-Cooled VW shop to do the work.  I am getting very encouraged and excited about getting this going.

New interior throughout :

New original style seat covers are on, front and back, need seats installed
New headliner done
New door panels, not installed
New carpet set, not installed
Needs carpet underlayment/sound deadening, need advice there...

Needs:
Front lid lock cable/wire installed, latch adjusted
Gas cap door release cable/wire installed, Install new glove box which the release lever attaches to
New wipers, need to be installed with new seals etc (I have all these items)
Heater cables/wire installed
Carb tuned/replaced
Engine tuned and we can go from there
New battery, I will purchase prior to bringing to you or you can supply one, up to you.
New Bumpers, one installed, I guess I can put the other one on. :)
New running boards, not installed, I will do them after all the other inside work has been completed.

Thinking Panasport alloy wheels too. Just to do it.

More later,
Rob

This is my all time favorite, had it since 1978. Just gambled on buying a gas tank from India so I have these 2 photos handy.
The first is with the 4gallon and the second pic is the new 6.5 gallon "sports" tank. The line from headlight to tank to seat are so much better with the large tank. My photo doesn't do it justice, I didn't have the space to set up a beauty shot.

All on the road, going nowhere in particular.

I have no pic that shows both actual residents.

My trusty little Brixton is gone now and has been replaced by the V7 (which has been modified a bit since).
The '82 Honda Prelude SN is still around, although desperatly awaiting a rear damper assembly transplant.

Cheers,
D.

EDIT: I almost forgot our Puch MS50, in need of some love:

The next thing on the list to acquire is a new empty space, just for vehicles.

Love the air cooled renaissance we are living in. Tons of custom and high performance upgrades available, and original refabricating parts. I rescued a Porsche 912 (a 911 with a modified 4cyl motor from the 914) in 2011 from abandonment. It was a total basket case and did a full restore over 6 years. Did all the work myself with the exception of rebuilding the heads and the final paint and body work.  Here are the build threads.
