The original throttle body in my RE 350 Meteor has built in electronics that limit the top speed to an indicated 72 MPH. I found out that a different model, The Hunter 350 is unrestricted. I bought the Hunter item from India (the one on the right), and installed it on the bike. Test ride showed about the same slow acceleration, but now it shows an indicated 80 mph. Figure about 25-30 bucks per mph .

That and now I'm trying to learn guitar. Slow process.

What a fantastic thread.    :thumb:

Please everyone post plenty of pictures.  Some of us really enjoy watching your projects vicariously.

I have nothing to report.  Just riding the Zed for now.  Probably look at valve lash again at 60 or 70k

Need to motivate myself to get my old BMW F650 back in running trim.

Hello Folks, Has anyone fitted a 100 -90-18 rear tire on a loopframe rear to slightly lower the rear, or will that tire be  too small/skinny on the rear of my 73 eldorado?
Thanks
Rick

I've had customer Loops come in with a 100/90 on both ends. Makes it a bit harder to get on the center stand unless you push the rear wheel onto a board first. Will also not lean over as much on the sidestand (could be a good thing). Looks too skinny to my eye, but that's a personal preference.

I assume you don't have all the tools to service this final drive.
If you did then pinion removal is easy (and non invasive).
Pull the ball spline on the input shaft and threaded ring in the housing.
Then the assembly pulls out of the housing.
If you replace all the shims as you found them AND use the original cover gasket then all gear tooth relationships  will remain as found.
