Title: against the wind and with the wind...
Post by: lucydad on February 20, 2015, 11:27:16 AM
All,

Took another friday off work from FlubDub Energy.  I love the four on, and 3 off schedule.

Rode the Cannondale this morning:  against the wind is great cardio, works the muscles, one must kick down to the low gears, keep on pedaling, be patient, and eventually one makes the goal.  Many will tell you to hurry up-- but it is better to ride your own pace.

Resting at the goal is good form, so is hydration and enjoying the endorphin burn.

Then there is riding with the wind.  Easy and fast and fun,  seventh gear and 20 mph.  Miles fly by and one is cruising.  Flags fly proudly and home is quickly reached.   Life is like that.

Our FlubDub Energy BOD met Thursday.   Waiting for feedback, strategy and such.  I keep getting prompts to retire sometime before end of 2015.  Maybe they will help me make the decision?  Love days like today:  doing my own thing at my own pace.  Quiet and contemplative.

V7R will get rolled out this afternoon if it does not rain.  Spring is pretty much here:  high winds from the epic battle between Mother Gulf of Mexico and the blue Northers.

Ride safe all.  The cagers are out to maim and kill both kinds of two wheeled vehicles.

Those cages do the same for wheel chairs. It's an intimidation tactic trying to get you to not use THEIR road.

So if you had something to ride in your area, would it be called an ice cycle?

LD, that is really great advice for riding against the wind on a bicycle, but so easy to forget.  I'd much rather pedal up hill than against the wind, but why should it be different?

I've loved your bicycle and motorcycle commentary.  You're really living when you can do both in the same day!

No joy in the Ozarks yet. Freezing rain has put a shiny glaze on the 4 inches of snow on the ground. But it won't be long until the asparagus starts popping out of the patch out back ;D

SED,

Merci beaucoups....and my legs are still recovering from the upwind Cannondale ride.  V7R is much easier, just remember to relax and tack the vectors via counter steering.  Gusty today again.

Only thing I don't like about riding upwind is the added noise in my ears.
