Title: Le Mans Aftermarket Fairing?
Post by: Dimples on December 28, 2014, 04:26:14 PM
I'm interested in sourcing a fairing similar to the one in this photo. Looks to be the same production as on that yellow & black CX100 referenced in a recent post. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that is an Agostini. I've got one of those here that I purchased from Agostinis but it is slightly different.

PITA. Can't even do basic servicing with it on nor can you have a side stand.  ::)

I have seen one that the bottom ban bolts on to the top allowing for access to the sump. Don't know if it was a personal modification but it was a better idea. Still, I wouldn't fit one.

I clock up the distances though so I'm always doing another service.

It may have been made by Valpolini. I have the rear (signed) section. That's my motivation and reason for posting here. Could be an interesting project if I can put the parts together.

Sprint probably has the molds for the below. I have ordered from them a few times for the half fairings and the quality is outstanding but not cheap.

Hey Dimples, a friend has both the front and rear like the one in you last post. Don't think he'll separate them tho. I'll post a picture when I get a chance

Like the 2 headlight version. Reminiscent of the Crossbow.

I have a Sprint 1/4 Lemans fairing on my 1000s as said great quality and a little pricey.
Always wanted to try the full fairing... maybe someday.

Take a look at AirTech. They offer several vintage fairings that would do nicely.

So do you have to jack up the front wheel to get that on and off, or is the belly of it a separate piece?

I wonder who made this fairing?

That looks to me like the Avon fairing by Sprint Manufacturing. Considering purchasing the same one for my mk3...

I just made my own frame parts for my LM3 mounting. Different forks & headlight(LED). The stuff is unobtainium. Good Luck

I don't think Sprint have the moulds anymore. I have been looking for a twin headlight Sprint fairing for my LM2 as below, I had one fitted to an earlier LM2 I owned in the 80s. Can't find one any where.
I emailed Sprint and asked if they had the moulds and would make me one; I can't remember their exact words but basically they said no, they're only interested in Triumph parts now.

Yes, within the last year or two.

So, saw this fairing for sale very cheap and have bought it.
Originally from a Spada, so it should fit the Le Mans.
The plan is to re style with a fair amount of cutting and new fibre glass application to get it how I want it.
If it turns out well I get it painted, if not I've lost very little £ on it.

Steve, if you're still interested in the LM II style upper fairing, I have one on my Le Mans which I'll sell whan i get round to fitting the twin headlight full fairing. You've probably seen it at newby hall - I'm in Otley. Not sure if I already know you through the MGOCGB?
