Dan,

The V7 has been working well since the previously mentioned issues were resolved. The only new thing is that the neutral light doesn't work, but that's alright. That was most of the season still left for good riding. Hd some good fun with it. Now it is time to put it away before the snow falls! We've already had some flurries so it's about time.

The Neutral switch is inside the gearbox some sort of contact grounded by the shift drum.

Find the bolt/wire sticking out of the gearbox and ground it to the chassis to check the light.
The schematic also shows a one-way connector, perhaps that's pulled apart.

Actually it's a bit more complicated than that
The switch 35 grounds pin 3 of the ECU then pin 17 of the ECU passes the signal along to the dash pin 10
Either way I would still expect grounding the switch 35 to cause the neutral light to come On
