79 CBX
« on: October 25, 2021, 04:47:19 PM »
Another CBX up for auction. Love the exhaust, have no words for the seat. Rear drive chain could use some oil. In my top three for bikes to downshift two gears on a warm summer night on a deserted highway.

The seat's ugly.
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉

The original red paint is almost stunning on the early CBX. This red is fugly, and I don’t have words for the K&Q seat.
Might hold back the bidding.

The seat is probably period correct. Still ugly! I bought an '80 Suzuki GS 850GL with an extra seat a lot like that one. It had the stock seat which was the most comfortable stock seat I ever sat on.

Yeah, that seat's ugly.

And the paint is wrong, and the engine cosmetics aren't so good, and it probably
needs the usual fluid changes, tires, chain, sprockets, etc..

But I'll be those RC engineering pipes sound GREAT on full song!

lots of people had those seats back in the day.  pre russell day long, you had to do something.  whenever i see a "superbike" from that era, i always see those skinny forks and wonder how did we survive.
