Title: Speedometer issues
Post by: Cassie on December 02, 2022, 05:04:58 PM
I have a 2017 MG V7 III. The speedo started malfunctioning by resting on 10mph when I stopped then it started to peg at higher speeds, now it rests at at higher speeds before you start it up. On start up it does swing to the bottom like it is trying to cycle, but it is totally malfunctioning. i have disconnected the battery, checked the fuses and figuring I am just going to have to buy a new speedo…anyone else with similar problems? Also the odometer and trip meter does seem to still be working ok. Thanks

I cannot tell you why it’s not resting at zero, but make sure your sensor at the wheel is clean and correctly spaced.
Also as good a time as any to introduce yourself to Guzzidiag if you haven’t already met.
You WILL need it at some point…. :clock:

Yeah, but don’t be overly keen to buy one.
Take it off and clean any ferrous or conductive matter off it.
Also, it’s only as good as the connectors.
