Thanks for the tip guido. I wasn’t going to vapor hone the covers, but now the heads and cylinders have been bead blasted. I think I’ll see how they look, and if necessary get them honed. I’m lucky to have a great same day service shop in my town.

What is the conventional wisdom behind lightening the flywheel ?

I think I know why (revs faster?), but how much?

Here are a couple of the lightened flywheels on my bikes. Makes for fast revs.
850T with lemans flywheel with minor lightening - this is a nice compromise.



Lemans 1000 extreme lightening.
