I went to a gun show in Hickory, NC today. A dealer had a nickle S&W model 12 and was asking $850 for it. That was the 1st model 12 I had seen in years.

At a local estate auction a standard Mod 10 that seemed pretty sound but with much cosmetic wear with aftermarket grips went for $460. Cheap they ain't.

I have been looking for S&W model 13 with a 3 inch barrel for a long time if any body knows where one is and if it is obtainable

I purchased several guns via Gunbroker when I was actively collecting (about 20 years ago) without any issues.  However, I haven't purchased anything through the website in many years.

Yeah, there, it's all about the quality of the individual seller and the transfer dealer.

Well...Went in to try and make a deal today trading even up for my Ruger Blk Hawk. Got there to fine out that the Model 12 had been sold. Ended up what I guess one would call an impulse trade:

A Model 64-6 38 SP only.
Thanks for your alls' input.

Ugh- another social misfit joins the forum and starts fights. Here we go again.

Listen, Jack, this was a pleasant conversation about collectable handguns. It wasn't about the Second Amendment.  Dusty pointed out to you at the very beginning that so long as these threads stuck to collecting and mechanics, it's fine.  Read the rules. Don't go poking your finger in people's eyes.
