Guzzi calls for SG oil. More precisely, the owners manual for my 2012 Stelvio NTX says "USE HIGH-QUALITY 10W - 60 OIL." SAE 10W - 60. As an alternative to recommended fluids, use top branded oils with performances that meet or exceed the requirements of CCMC G-4 API. SGspecifications. So, before I started using Castrol Edge 10w60 SJ/CF, I decided to look up the classifications of this oil to ensure it would be ok to use in my bike. Based on the below information, I don't really see anything special with SG oil, since it has been in basically every oil since 1989. It would appear to me that SJ meets and far exceeds SG classification. "S" – SPARK IGNITION (Gasoline, Propane, CNG)SG = Service typical of gasoline engines beginning with the 1989 model year.SJ = 1997 SJ may be used where API Service Classifications SH.SH = 1994 provides improved control of engine deposits, oxidation and engine wear relative to oils developed for previous categories.Further confirmation from my dealer was enough to seal the deal. I have always used Castrol in my bikes, and like stated by others, I can simply go to my BMW dealer and $12 per quart later, have all the oil I need.
Sometime back, I received this reply from Caludio Pucci after I emailed him:Please call 724-352- 4451 and they should be able to ship the oil to the address you provide. If you have any problems or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me back. Thanks again! Claudio PucciNortheast Area Manager Eni USA R&M Co Inc
