FYI

China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina) is set to buy into tire-maker Pirelli, with what is currently a €7.1 billion deal. The move would put the 143-year-old Italian company in Chinese ownership, with ChemChina being the majority and controlling shareholder.

 ???

Nothing smells worse than a cheap tire. Maybe the Italians can help them improve the aroma!  :pop

What to do with all those old tires?!

Well there goes the neighborhood.

I've been buying auto/suv Pirelli's for 4 decades with good results.  They always had the best rain performance which is when I tend to slide/drift.

I hope they don't screw up the calendar.

Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

What to do with all those old tires?!

In China, they'd just set them on fire and add to the "ambiance".   They're still recovering from having to shut down all the factories and traffic for the Olympics so people could breathe .... !

Anyone have a good recipe for cryo-storage?
Still have a decade or two of permafrost in the ground around here in spite of global warming.
1 1/2 sets of sport demon a year, I'm coming up on 59, .... say 21 sets (optimist  ;D) ... how well do they freeze?
And who can supply current stock? Anyone know how to wrap a tire for deep freezing?

Local experience with the punters republic of corporate has been less than stellar. Wolverine Mine. China Yukon Gold. sigh.

Hope those Bridgestone I'm trying for the first time since the early 1980's live up to the support they receive in forums.

China has to do something with all those Euros and Dollars they have sitting around.  Pretty soon we'll be begging China to outsource some of their mfg to the US and Europe :)

We won't have to beg.  In a few years when our economy has collapsed and the labor rate in China is higher than ours, they'll be outsourcing their manufacturing to the US because it'll be cheaper for them.

I don't know what it's like Stateside but here in Vancouver Chinese money is buying up all the real estate making it
next to impossible for regular people to buy a house. A lot of dirty Chinese money is being laundered in BC.
